Al Ahly suffered a 3-1 loss to Tala’ea El Gaish on matchday 2 of the Egypt Capital Cup group stage.
The Reds’ lineup was mostly composed of youth team players, with some first-team players included.
Just seconds into the game, Tala’ea El Gaish were awarded a penalty, which Godwin Chika converted to give the opponents an early lead. Despite Al Ahly’s efforts to respond, Islam Mohareb doubled the lead in the 38th minute.
After the restart, Adam Samir pulled one back for Al Ahly in the 55th minute. However, just six minutes later, Yasser Wahid added the third goal for Tala’ea El Gaish.
The Reds continued to push forward in search of another goal but couldn’t find the back of the net until the referee blew the final whistle.
